Quick note

We had a great week! Not much progress on the part of our investigators and no luck finding new investigators, but it was great. Like always.

On Monday, we saw our recent convert and her new baby! I didn't take pictures - I'll repent and get some this week hopefully. She's doing great though - she's so amazing. Single mom with six little kids. Wow.

We tried to visit members to help them do missionary work. I think they're a little more motivated to do it. When we visited Hermana Lopez, we helped her clean up her house. It took a little bit of persistence on our part, but it was so great doing service! People don't let us help too often, but serving and getting to know the members is one of the best parts of missionary work.

We had a mini-miracle with Martin's family. We're were trying to figure out how to involve his whole family in the lessons and get them interested to learn. We got a call Thursday morning and found out that their little dog, Chocolate, was hit by a car and the doctors suggested that they put the dog down. It was really hard for his sons but we were able to go over there that night and teach them about faith. Both of the boys and Martin's wife Guadalupe, who hasn't come to our lessons in a over a month, all sat and listened. They still don't know if Chocolate is going to have surgery or if they'll have to put him down, but it helped them unite as a family and think about what they really want. They didn't come to church, but they are SO CLOSE. So close.

On Friday, we had a General Authority, Elder Aidukaitis (not sure if I spelled that right), who came to train our whole mission. We talked a lot about setting high goals and planning well so we could use our time effectively. The work's been slow, but there ARE prepared people. We just have to use our time well to find them. So....that's the plan. We have super high goals that require a lot of faith, but this training opened our eyes and helped us realize that WE CAN do this. So......here's trial week 1. Hopefully the stress doesn't kick in here. We'll just be counting the miracles - I'll have a whole email full of daily miracles next week.

Also, the General Relief Society Broadcast. So great. President Monson talked about prayer - it's something so simple but so important. I know it works - we don't always get the answers we want, but as we wait on the Lord, we'll recognize the answers. And whatever happens will be the best thing. I haven't gotten everything I've wanted on my mission, but I've learned to be humble and accept the things God wants to give me. It's all in His timing.

I'm SUPER excited to watch General Conference this weekend! Don't miss it! We CAN receive revelation through the words of the prophets. Because we have prophets, we have everything: the priesthood, the Holy Ghost, and the truth. I'm so grateful for the chance to learn from them this weekend, and to share this unique message with the world everyday!

Love you all! Have a great week!
